Background: Lancia Ypsilon 1.3 JTD (70HP) DFN [2004] Mileage: ~186000 km Date: ~01 Sep 2025 Issue 1/2: Door Catch (Door Opening Limiter) Replacement Over the years, wear causes the door catch to make a gunshot-like noise at each step of door travel. This is a common issue across several Fiat Group models. According to eLearn, the official procedure requires removing both the interior panel and the inner frame assembly. You will find links to PDF files with these procedures below. However, when I removed the speaker, I discovered that the speaker cut-out was large enough to extract and fit the door catch directly. Therefore, I strongly recommend removing only the interior panel and the speaker — no need to touch the inner frame assembly. It really is that simple!
