Issue: diesel filter change challenge

Recommended prerequisite link: ypsilon24

In this album, we will be detailing the various part n° references for your fuel filter housing
and the entire diesel filter replacement process.

So, continuing from ypsilon24, here's how to choose a new filter housing,
if needed:

Component Reference(s) Comments
diesel fuel filter + seal autodoc: UFI filters 77362340 This reference is strongly recommended because it comes
in a plastic protective box, keeping any dust particles
away from your filter. The reference seen in Image7613
is for training purposes only, I am not using this filter in my car.
Make sure you follow the eLearn PDFs available in ypsilon24,
so that you replace your filter WITHOUT introducing dust in
your fuel circuit

Bad news: 2 pins instead of 4 pins
Good news: no error messages on my dashboard, despite
missing heating resistance. However, the heating resistance
is there for a reason. If you have any background info
on this heating resistance, please let me know (end of page)

Finally, here are some hints & tips how to pull your fuel pipes, because this
was a tricky bit for me.

0. Clean the area, so that you don't introduce dust in your fuel
circuit.
1. Based on Image7002-demo (final image), ALWAYS stay in the
axis of your fuel pipe (red line). Do NOT pull in a circular movement,
or your pipe could break (see for instance Image7547 from the training
unit pipe). Always stay in the red axis when pulling!
2. With one hand (and your fingers and your nails...), keep the grey clip
assembly close to the filter body and away from the pipe. Do not expect
the grey clip to move along the red axis (or any other axis). If you can
move it even 2mm in the green arrow direction, consider yourself lucky.
3. Once the grey clip assembly is firmly kept with your hands, fingers and nails,
gently start pulling the pipe away from the housing. Again, stay on the red
axis. Apply progressive force, stay gentle, patient, breathe, eat, pray, love
and eventually the pipe will break free from the 4 clips included
in the grey clip assembly. If you are not gentle enough, you will start breaking
your clips from the grey clip assembly. And if you overdo it, you'll also probably
break a fuel pipe (see for instance Image7547 from the training unit pipe).
4. Intentionally left blank ;)

For my next fuel filter change, I was thinking of also:

1. Draining some fuel from the water drain tap (Image7417)
to minimize spillage in the engine bay during removal.
Sure, you can protect the alternator and accessories with a
rag — but it’s still messy.
2. Carefully clean inside my fuel filter housing because it's supposed to be
the clean side of the filter but contains some sludge...
3. Intentionally left blank ;)
